The Challenge

Monitoring stocks with their full feed from the NASDAQ stock market requires a dynamic portal that needs to be updated every few minutes. That is a challenge in itself for most stock traders.

Most users need a real-time portal to help connect their trading accounts through the application and make trades on the market. Predicting which hot stocks to invest in can be hard to gauge without a clear view of stocks at all times.

The Vision

The founders of StocksToTrade were looking to build a user-friendly portal that would allow for real-time stock market analysis. They wanted users to be able to analyze stock markets based on cumulative and live data. They suggested the need for an interactive desktop application that would be designed for stock market users to monitor stocks with their full feed from the NASDAQ stock market. They wanted to implement cutting-edge technology that would use algorithms to help predict hot stocks for day traders.

The Scopic Solution

The Scopic team set about creating this application from scratch by using a few programming languages like RubyOnRails, C++, and MySQL. Our team fully developed this stock analysis software to follow and analyze stock markets based on cumulative and live data. Even though the backend is complex, the UI design is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing with the addition of 2D charting.

By integrating the app with institutional data providers and leading financial brokerages, we created a functionally superior tool that would not only display live stock market stats, but would also be able to predict hot stocks for traders.

Software synthesizers can emulate popular hardware models, offer new sounds, and present novel ways to synthesize audio – all at costs that are usually lower than their hardware alternatives.

The Vision Behind the App

The company envisioned a synthesis engine that would contain a continuously updated library of new sounds, themes, and ideas. They wanted the music app to be intuitive and innovative, so they turned to Scopic to bring their idea to life.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic’s expert team of developers worked tirelessly to create Capsule and Capsule Portal.

Capsule is a plugin for Digital Audio Workstations (DAWs). It allows sound designers to create fresh new sounds or manipulate base sounds from the library.

Capsule has multiple valuable features:

• Constantly refreshed with unique, curated sounds

• One-click installs: users can download desired sounds through the desktop, without leaving DAW

• Users can manage their libraries and sounds via the user-friendly desktop app

Capsule Portal is a desktop app that can be used for browsing and installing Capsule libraries. It can also run in the background, allowing users to access the sounds through the Capsule plugin.

Capsule Portal offers its users a wide range of functionalities:

• Download full libraries

• Download individual sounds

• Curate own collections

• Rate, favorite, and tag sounds

• All cloud-sync compatible

The Vision Behind the App

Ikalogic is a French company with the vision of making the world’s most user-friendly electronics test and measurement instruments. They offer state of the art hardware that guarantees reliable measurements for high-frequency signals and spots rare events. In order to analyze protocols in-depth and simplify this process for the user, they aimed to create a reliable platform. Ikalogic envisioned this to be both functional and easy to use.

They contacted Scopic and chatted with our graphical user interface experts to come up with a solution.

Scopic worked together with Ikalogic and built ScanaStudio, a simple software with complex development. This platform runs all Ikalogic Logic Analyzer devices. It’s super easy to use, yet, it’s packed with professional features like protocol based trigger, packet-views, and signal editor. The ScanaStudio helps you get the most out of your logic analyzer. It’s designed to be intuitive, future-evolutions ready, easy to appropriate, and fast to execute.

The Christmas Lights Challenge

Generally, holidays serve as reminders of things to appreciate in life and they are meant to be enjoyed. However, as beautiful as it sounds, we all know how much preparation they require. From the cooking, invitations, presents and the overall set up, it often becomes a tiresome process with little time left to fully enjoy with family and friends. Most holidays are not complete without outdoor decoration, which traditionally translates to:

Doing pre-measurements in the yard (possibly fumbling in the winter cold if it is Christmas)
Checking inspirational ideas
Sketching
Purchasing of materials

Eventually, amongst all the other items to check off the to-do list, the outdoor decor is taken pretty seriously around the holiday season. If it is not well done, it may lead to extra costs and time.

The Vision Behind the App

Christmas is the most beautiful time of the year. Everybody’s souls get more creative and colorful – ready to go into Christmas mode. Houses become a reflection of the holiday’s festive mood through all the original decorations that warm up the atmosphere no matter how cold it gets.

Hence, Christmas Lightning wanted to help those in charge of this kind of magic by alleviating their preparation efforts. They aimed at finding a solution that would allow people to picture what they had in mind and concretize that without exaggerated costs and limiting the time investment. Christmas Lightning decided to cooperate with Scopic to try to ease this important task for the whole family during the holiday season.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic created Christmas Lighting, a desktop app that allows users to create, preview, and edit the design of their outdoor holiday decor. The frontend experts perfected the user-friendly interface by providing the following features with a simple click of a button:

Add wreaths and garlands

Select trees and nativity sets

Choose any kind of seasonal decoration

And more!

In addition to developing the app from scratch, Scopic designed the user interface and decoration animations. The team also utilized image editing technologies to allow users to simulate their sparkling decorations in the dark.

The Electronic Keyboard Challenge

Apps have given us access to multiple streams of entertainment – movies, games, tv, and more. The music industry hasn’t been left behind, with many musical applications offered to us. Unfortunately, the challenge associated with wanting to play or learn to play a traditional instrument is that you physically need to have it with you.

Most instruments – especially pianos – aren’t easily transported from place to place. This makes it hard for the musician or student to play, compose, or learn whenever and wherever they’d like. If you desired to play, you needed to be in the same space as your piano.

The Vision Behind the App

With this challenge in mind, the folks at MIDI fantasized about a keyboard that was not only portable but also musically accurate and easy to play. They envisioned an app that would be a precise replication of a real-life keyboard, mimicking the quality of sound. Along with the software, they dreamt of a small, hand-held keyboard that could be used simultaneously with the app. They turned to Scopic to partner on their exciting ideas.

The Scopic Solution

With our custom software development services, we designed and developed Electronic Musical Instrument and the companion MIDI Controller (the hand-held keyboard mentioned before) in record time. Electronic Musical Instrument is one of two integrated applications designed by our team. It interprets and transcribes musical notation in MIDI format from inputs on a standard computer keyboard. Our team managed to fit five octaves onto a regular, 3.75×9-inch laptop keyboard.

The app makes it possible to ‘play’ up to a three-octave range with only one hand. Through a simple tutorial, users can learn to play and understand the basic principles of reading and composing music with this software. The app is available on both Mac and Windows desktops as well as other tablet operating systems.

The App That Automates 2D and 3D Graph Creation

Creating Graphs Has Never Been Easier

The Graph Creation Challenge

Graphs are used to represent networks of communication. They are constructed by nodes. However, calculating the positions for each node, the distances between nodes and other additional constraints can be a challenge – especially if you’re looking to create both 2D and 3D graphs. Finding software to support both is not easy.

The Vision Behind the App

The Graph Theory application was built on a mission to automate the processes of creating 2D and 3D graphs. The founder wanted to create an app that would receive a list of important information, and calculate positions for each of the nodes. He envisioned that the created algorithm would then be able to automatically set initial positions for all nodes. He also hoped to adjust positions to reduce the total distance error using an iterative algorithm. So he partnered with Scopic, a desktop application development company, to build the Graph Theory app and make the experience of graph creation easier.

The Scopic Solution

On joining forces with Scopic, we built and designed this desktop application to both calculate nodes and reduce the total distance error when creating graphs. During the development process, our coders used technologies such as C++, OpenGL, Windows, and Parse to bring this app to life. Other activities involved:

We then continued working on the desktop application to make the user interface and experience better. Now users can enjoy a flawless graph creation process when using Graph Theory.
