The Challenge

Monitoring stocks with their full feed from the NASDAQ stock market requires a dynamic portal that needs to be updated every few minutes. That is a challenge in itself for most stock traders.

Most users need a real-time portal to help connect their trading accounts through the application and make trades on the market. Predicting which hot stocks to invest in can be hard to gauge without a clear view of stocks at all times.

The Vision

The founders of StocksToTrade were looking to build a user-friendly portal that would allow for real-time stock market analysis. They wanted users to be able to analyze stock markets based on cumulative and live data. They suggested the need for an interactive desktop application that would be designed for stock market users to monitor stocks with their full feed from the NASDAQ stock market. They wanted to implement cutting-edge technology that would use algorithms to help predict hot stocks for day traders.

The Scopic Solution

The Scopic team set about creating this application from scratch by using a few programming languages like RubyOnRails, C++, and MySQL. Our team fully developed this stock analysis software to follow and analyze stock markets based on cumulative and live data. Even though the backend is complex, the UI design is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing with the addition of 2D charting.

By integrating the app with institutional data providers and leading financial brokerages, we created a functionally superior tool that would not only display live stock market stats, but would also be able to predict hot stocks for traders.

The Challenge Summarized

Day trading can be a highly lucrative avenue with the proper experience and right tools. The challenge of this particular trading software development campaign was to make an application that can meet the demands of this fast-paced market.

The Vision Behind the App

Scopic has enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with StocksToTrade and developed the desktop and web versions of the app, with the mobile application currently in development. Another extension of the vision is to have embeddable web widgets. This string of evolving ideas and innovative spirit have powered the long-term relationship between Scopic and the client.

The Scopic Solution

A light web version of a desktop application was designed for users to monitor stocks with full feed from the NASDAQ stock market. The web version was created by Scopic’s team from scratch to allow users to connect their real trading accounts through the application and trade on the market. Depending on the type of subscription, users may have different widgets available. Oracle, one of the most popular widgets available on the web version, uses algorithms to predict hot stocks for day traders.

In addition to Oracle, Scopic used several AWS solutions to implement the light web version. This included AWS ECS for application deployment and storage, AWS ElastiCache to reduce external data requests, and AWS Lambda & API Gateway for cost-effective serverless scaling. Data integrity and security are key to this type of application. To ensure the reliability of the database, we used AWS RDS with PostgreSQL and we further enhanced the security of the database by enabling encryption and leveraging the AWS KMS (Key Management Service), along with other measures that ensured robust protection. Cloudwatch configuration was also a requirement in this ever-changing domain, allowing us to track, troubleshoot, analyze system activity, and make strategic technical decisions.

The result was a notable reduction in server load, improved response times, enhanced security, and a scalable, cost-effective infrastructure. StocksToTrade now offers traders a resilient, secure, and scalable platform for efficient market analysis.

The Vision

The founders of the OmniBazaar marketplace envisioned a dynamic website where people could barter a product or service without a bank account or credit card and immediately receive OmniCoins, Bitcoins or Ether.

They wanted a huge decentralized crypto marketplace that would be able to serve over two billion people with a registered user base of 10,000 crypto owners. They were on a mission to empower users to buy, trade, and sell their cryptocurrencies on this soon to be made website. This would allow online buyers to benefit from lower prices and escape the headache of “big data” tracking and “push” marketing. They also hoped for extremely high levels of security standards to be put in place to ensure no fraudulent activities would occur in their online marketplace.

The Solution

With Scopic’s expert team of C++ programmers and software developers on board, we listened to the Omnicoin vision and began developing a patented “peer-to-peer-to-peer” solution for Windows, Mac, and Linux. We pride ourselves in building the ultimate crypto eCommerce marketplace to rival eBay and Amazon.

By blending existing technology like C++, Java, NodeJS and the revolutionary blockchain, not only did we change the codebase from Bitshares 0.9.3(c) to Bitshares 2.0, but we also designed, developed and integrated a new user interface with Javascript. Our teams continue to work together to further optimize and implement additional features and adapt to the ever-evolving crypto marketplace.

The team carefully crafted the software architecture, and outlined a concept that would revolutionize the way personal documentation was shared, certified, and stored in financial institutions around the globe.

The platform provided fully digital and analytical solutions to streamline business processes. The Universal KYC Solution reviewed, fully documented and analyzed KYC data for legal entities and complex structures in an inherently efficient reusable digital master record format.

This small business productivity app was developed by Scopic to help improve the recruiting and selection processes. The app was modeled in the ASP.net framework and uses MSSQL, Jquery, HTML, and C3.js. The app communicates with a third-party recruiting application and uses Sendgrid as a necessary integrated email sending system. Scopic web developers made sure the emails were automatically sent to the interviewees after the technical interview phases are concluded. In order to save recruiters’ time, Scopic developed a feature that processes, organizes, and presents the gathered data in dynamic dashboards that are accessible with a single click.

Take Control of Your Company’s Budget with Planning, Monitoring and Feedback Tools

Transforming the Budgeting Processes Within Company Departments

The Company Budget Challenge

At the end of each yearly quarter, companies go through the painful process of budget planning, monitoring, and feedback sharing. Without the right tools in place, the procedure can be very time-consuming and inaccurate. And since there are multiple departments in Scopic, there were too many employees who were involved in budget processes. So we needed a way that would simplify this. Here is what we were looking to achieve:

Budget Planning – different employees in each department needed to submit, modify or approve budgets according to their roles.

Budget Monitoring – department heads and employees needed to view the actual usage of the budgeted amounts on a daily basis and to be notified when reaching budget limitations.

Budget Feedback – at the end of each budgeting period, employees needed to assess variations in actual versus planned expenses and provide comments.

So there was a need for software that would streamline these processes and provide us with a more productive workflow.

The Vision Behind the Tools

Once Scopic realized the need for an automated company budgeting solution, we decided to build an innovative piece of software. Our mission was to create Budget Planning, Budget Monitoring, and Budget Feedback internal tools. These would be built to facilitate the communication between the heads of the departments and the CEO when it comes to the budgeting process.

Through the Budget Planning tool, users would be able to submit, change, and approve budgets. Once the budgets would be in place and approved, employees could view the actual usage of the budgeted amounts on a daily basis through the Budget Monitoring tool. The latter would also send reminders about reaching budget limitations to the point of contact which would allow for prompt interventions whenever necessary.

The Budget Feedback tool would be used at the end of each budgeting quarter and would help assess variations in actual versus planned expenses.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic, being a software development company, decided to take the initiative upon itself and build these tools. Our development team created these cross platform solutions from scratch using three Microsoft 365 products: Microsoft Flow, PowerApps and PowerBI. Some of our activities involved:

When envisioning the app, Scopic was inspired by their own experience in managing resources and projects. The goal was to create a tool that automated the company’s project kickoffs and facilitated the coordination of resource assignments.

The Scopic Solution

The Resource Management Tool (RMT) is an internal application used by Scopic’s Operations team. This tool manages personnel training assignments and consolidates the information the company has on the employee’s skills, interests, training, assignments, etc. In addition, the tool provides special APIs which the company consumes within other applications (such as Klipfolio) to gather and analyze department-relevant information. Integrated with the company’s extensive network of internal tools, RMT is synchronized with many of the other tools such as Scopic Time System, Zoho CRM, Zoho People, and Teamwork.
