Mobile technology is taking our lives by storm. The average time spent by people on their phones for non-voice content has increased almost five times in the past few years. One of the main reasons behind this success is that mobile games are portable and provide one of the best forms of entertainment anywhere and at any time.
The rapid growth of this industry has led to a whole host of companies offering apps in the mobile games space.
Yet meeting the standards of today’s ever-changing gaming world and keeping users engaged has proven to be a real challenge for most companies in the field.
The vision behind MechWarrior: Tactical Command was to create a real-time strategy game that was adaptable to all iOS devices. The goal was to create a game that would let users customize four battlemechs as they played through 21 missions across 3 planets taken straight from the lore of the Battletech universe.
The company wanted the game to be set during the chaotic events of the 3050 Clan Invasion. An important part of the vision was that gamers got to command the MechWarriors of Winfield’s Regiment as they struggled to defend the Federated Commonwealth from the onslaught of Clan Jade Falcon. So they approach Scopic to make their vision a reality.
MechWarrior: Tactical Command is a real-time strategy game. Scopic designed the game so users can engage in battles in a 3D environment with a controllable camera. Players can rotate 360 degrees, zoom out to take in the big picture or zoom in to view the carnage up close.
Users command their lances with the touch screen, maneuver their ‘mechs to flank the enemy then unleash devastating targeted attacks all in one game!

They ensure office space planning is done properly in order to suit their needs. Floor plans are designed. They come in 2D and provide an overview of the space being used, stating the potential of the room and the layout opportunities. However, they are limited in that it becomes hard to visualize how the office design will actually look, including color, materials, texture, and furnishings.
The company’s aim was to simplify the process of converting these easy-to-create 2D plans into 3D plans for their office. They envisioned a better workflow of their interior design process. Increasing efficiency in visualization meant companies would take quicker decisions. As their teams grow, the designs would reflect the physical changes of the space. They reached out to Scopic and worked towards a solution.
Scopic built Office Space Planner, an intuitive and robust software. The application allows users to quickly and easily turn 2D office space plans into fully explorable and interactive 3D scenes. It enables users to configure and plan their office space virtually through Geometric Algorithms that run in the background. Our 3D experts created graphical features that cover the area in detail and increase users’ visibility on all the optimization that can be done to the space.

]]>A deck is a fundamental part of interior design. It is one of the elements that serve both functional and aesthetic purposes and occupy considerable amounts of space in the house. People can invest a lot of energy trying to find out the perfect fit in color, add-ons, and overall shape. It is challenging to successfully do so and it may require a professional background in design to fully visualize the perfect deck.
Deck Designer company envisioned a user-friendly solution that would make it easier for people to imagine their ideal deck for their exterior or interior places. Their approach aimed to meet the particular needs of customers while providing them with powerful customization features. This would include various options of colors, materials, shapes, and railings. They reached out to Scopic to concretize and finalize their ideas.

]]>Physically owning, training, breeding and racing a professional racehorse can be an extremely pricey endeavor and seems to be a sport for those in a ‘certain class’ of wealth.
In a world where you can play games based on pretty much anything in real life, horse racing should not be an exception. With this idea in mind, the challenge now becomes: how to develop it and bring the gamer into the exciting sport of horse racing without having to spend thousands of dollars to be involved.
The team over at DigitalDowns saw this opportunity and wanted to bring the sport of horse racing to a larger audience. With a gap in the virtual horse racing market, they decided to create a game where the user could be involved in all aspects of this fast-paced world.
DigitalDowns envisioned their game as an experience – one where the user could participate in more than just betting and watching races. They wanted it to be more interactive where the player would be able to see what it was like to truly raise a horse. After training and raising a horse, they envisioned the user to then enter their horse in a race and earn real money while competing against other players around the world.
The team at Digital Downs needed their game to be as close to real-life horse raising and training as possible. They wanted it to be based off of real race tracks in the U.S.
With this exciting project in mind, the visionaries behind DigitalDowns came to Scopic to help bring their game to life.
Our team of developers worked closely with DigitalDowns to model the game after famous race tracks across the U.S. and ensured the other details of the app matched their creativity.
In order to achieve this, we focused on creating the app around the key areas of DigitalDowns’ wishes for the game. To mirror real-life experiences the game needed to portray certain scenarios, like:
Owning a stable of horses
Racing horses for real money
Complete ownership of the horse
Training horses
Buying horses at auctions
Veterinarian visits
And many more aspects that come with owning and racing horses.

It can be achieved manually or automatically. 3D graphics’ application is preferred in industries such as video games, movies, architecture, illustration, engineering, and commercial advertising.
Unlike in 2D, where the market is saturated with simplified platforms, 3D modeling proves to be more intricate and there is a learning curve. For potential 3D artists, it takes a much longer time to get the hang of the technology as it is technically challenging to acquire all the knowledge needed. Sometimes, there is also a lack of feature variety that could facilitate that process.
Daz Productions Inc., commonly known as Daz 3D, is a 3D development enterprise focused on providing specific 3D human models and related content to graphics enthusiasts and professionals. The company’s team invested in qualitative apps that helped in giving powerful software for Poser, a graphics program.
In 2012, the focus was more on the content itself. They aimed at giving customers the ability to render images and videos by providing user-friendly features. The team knew there were a lot of talented 3D artists that wanted to be part of this world, but these professionals needed an easier way to break through the industry.
Hence, they reached out to Scopic to provide free software for consumers and turn their idea into reality.
Scopic worked together with DAZ Productions and created Daz Studio. Daz Studio is a 3D creation software tool that is not only easy to use but also features rich functionalities. Suitable for novice or proficient 3D artists and animators – Daz Studio enables the user to create amazing 3D art.
Our 3D experts ensured to provide various features to users, such as:

However, there are many types of wild birds in remote habitats, that can only be observed via videos or photos. These means do not allow for much interaction with the birds, like feeding for instance
Being aware of this challenge, the company aimed to create a way where bird-lovers could enjoy every single detail of these beautiful creatures. Bird enthusiasts could learn more fun facts, and in the meantime they could also feel like they were watching them in person. In order to achieve this goal, it had to be done in a very realistic manner.
So, they worked together with Scopic on a solution.
Scopic built Feeder Vu, a user-friendly and responsive mobile application. This is the first realistic 3D virtual bird feeder app in the Apple App Store. Users are able to customize their bird feeder and admire the intricate details and natural behaviors of the birds. Tapping on particular birds provides additional information on them. The app also allows enthusiasts to virtually add bird feeders in different locations within the U.S. and choose the bird species they’d like to feed.

]]>When it comes to manufacturing, a lot of process complexities may emerge at any given time. Taking a manual approach to finding solutions can be both time-consuming and highly inefficient.
Accurately determining the inputs of manufacturing processes requires costly research and development. Company personnel have to do a lot of physical testing to all units until the right model or prototype is achieved.
As such, CNC machinists oversee specific and dedicated software to create parts, tools and other mass-produced items. However, if this step is not executed or facilitated properly, it can lead to the breaking of another tool, and thus the whole system.
Subtractive procedures are generally utilized in assembling or manufacturing processes. Material gets ‘subtracted’ from a roughly molded beginning part to accomplish the final shapes and desired measurements required. With years of experience in the manufacturing industry, our client wanted to create a highly efficient solution for his CNC machinists. He hoped to ensure the delivery of more robust machine parts which would have higher resistance and smoother finalizations in comparison to the alternative: additive printing.
So, he contacted Scopic, due to our former experience in CNC software development, with the purpose of effectively automating their manufacturing processes.
Scopic’s expertise in Subtractive 3D Printing led to the development of an advanced tool for the automated creation of CNC machine paths for parts manufacturing. This application uses volume modelling so the user can see the design of the model at any stage before sending tool paths to their machine. This game-changing piece of software has given engineers full control over the manufacturing process. It has also reduced the risk of human error that often leads to broken tools or malfunctioning parts.
By tapping into the power of manufacturing software development, this application is significantly increasing the efficiency of the engineers who create paths for cnc machines.
