The Medical Imaging Challenge

Medical imaging is critically important in the diagnosis and treatment planning of vascular diseases. Though there have been many technological advancements in the field of medical imaging in recent years, there are still certain challenges and drawbacks. Some of the most obvious ones include inconveniently long scan times and expensive and nonportable scanning equipment.

The Vision Behind the App

The idea behind Endovantage was to build a powerful web application that creates detailed 3D visualizations of patients’ vasculature. The easy-to-use tool aims to assist medical practitioners involved in diagnostic imaging and help them come up with best treatment scenarios for patients.

The Scopic Solution

Built for use by medical professionals, Endovantage is a high-powered, cloud-based medical modeling tool that radically improves endovascular device design and development. It analyzes patients’ CT scans to generate custom 3D models of vasculature, providing crucial anatomical measurements and visualizations far more quickly and accurately than physical testing. In order to enhance patient relations, Endovantage also simulates multiple treatment scenarios based on available devices and/or deployment strategies.

Using the ThreeJS library and HTML5, the Scopic team designed this complex frontend 3D viewer to communicate securely with a pre-existing backend 3D mesh generator, and developed a special format to store sensitive medical information within the app.

These replicas usually have higher accuracy than molds and can be sent to labs where dentures, bridges, and retainers can be created accurately and quickly. Digital impressions also provide a more comfortable patient experience compared to using traditional mold material.

The Vision Behind the App

ByteMe is an exclusive teledentistry platform that unites a nationwide network of licensed dentists and orthodontics. ByteMe was looking for a reliable software development partner to build a new 3D application for their platform. They envisioned an app that would store and display 3D teeth impressions and help doctors oversee dental treatments in patients looking to straighten their teeth. They turned to Scopic to turn their vision into reality.

Scopic helped build the 3D Treatment Viewer, part of ByteMe’s teledentistry platform. The app displays 3D files that allow dentists and orthodontists to thoroughly analyze each patient’s teeth impressions and store the information related to patient history. Based on this data, doctors can create safe and effective treatment plans that help fix patients’ mild to moderate teeth spacing and crowding issues.

The Challenge 

It is often difficult to visualize whether a sticker will suit your car before purchasing. Many car sticker companies struggle therefore, to present their stickers in a way that enables their clients to make more informed decisions regarding the stickers that go best with the specific make and color of their cars.

The Vision Behind the App

The founders of Car Stickers realized that by creating a web application to visualize stickers before purchasing, they would be able to facilitate the buyers’ decision making process and as a result, personalize the customer experience.

The Scopic Solution

Teaming up with the web development team at Scopic, the founders of Car Stickers turned their vision into reality. Using Javascript and other technologies our software development experts created an application that allows the end user to visualize 3D sticker designs on their vehicle of choice.

What’s more, once a sticker has been created, designs can be published, rated, commented on, or downloaded for further print, giving the user immediate access to their chosen and customized car stickers.

The Custom Logo Design Challenge 

Typically, if you want merchandise to be customized with a specific logo or text, you have to go through a third-party to design renderings for you. While this can be a viable way to create, it doesn’t give the person trying to design the merchandise much control over the layout or look of their desired product. This can also be a time-consuming task with some back-and-forth between design companies and clients.

The Vision Behind the App

The company behind 3D Logo Mapping saw the potential for a more custom solution to this challenge. They envisioned an app where the user could place the logo exactly where they’d like it on merchandise (a t-shirt or mug, for example). They also wanted the user of their app to be able to customize objects further with added text – choosing the size and style of font they preferred.

With their custom app in mind, they approached Scopic’s team of developers to help create the software.

Following the creative ideas of the vision, our team of developers built the 3D Logo Mapping software with the final user in mind. The application was created in a way that would easily allow the user to fully visualize what an object or piece of merchandise would look like with company colors, logos, and text on it.

We created the 3D portion of the app to allow the user to rotate the object on the screen to help them see all aspects of the item. Visualizing it in 3D gives users a better understanding of how a logo or image might wrap around certain pieces instead of having a flat view of it. 3D mapping allows the customer to be as creative as they’d like.
