The Dental Shade Challenge Summarized

Shade matching can be one of the most difficult aspects of dental restoration. Dentists’ hard-work and effort can often be wasted if shade tabs are inconsistent and lighting is poor. Once a shade has been determined, communicating with dental labs can also be inefficient and ad hoc.

The Vision Behind the App

ShadeWave’s vision was to make patients happier by enabling dentists and labs to determine dental shades more accurately. Their team aimed to offer a secure, HIPAA-compliant environment for dental practices and labs to communicate in real-time. No software or special equipment required!

Their vision was concretized into a dental software idea which would mathematically determine and map a tooth’s shade, translucency and value from a digital camera image. Color correction would be done by analyzing a scientifically formulated reference target; without the need for shade tabs.

They approached Scopic’s custom healthcare software development professionals as they knew that working with an affordable, competent and reliable team would help make their idea come true.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic developed a shade matching software using advanced image processing algorithms to calculate tooth shade, translucency and value at the touch of a button. By doing so Dentists are now able to eliminate the guesswork from color mapping and save their patients time and money. This orthodontic software was designed to work with any clinical digital camera. This makes it user-friendly and affordable too. Scientifically formulated reference targets were incorporated into the built-in color correction and shade mapping technologies. This helps users avoid inconsistent shade tabs.

Moreover, approved as HIPAA compliant, ShadeWave’s cloud-based software allows dental practices to communicate with labs in real-time. They can also access data from anywhere to ensure prompt and accurate restorations. This software simplifies the process for everyone: from practitioners and patients to lab teams and ceramists.

DICOM is a comprehensive speciﬁcation of content and structure, that defines communications protocols for images in the medical industry. Such files contain:

Having full control over DICOM images is not that easy. Firstly, they can’t be viewed directly on a personal computer without a proper interpreter. Secondly, their file sizes are quite large. Thirdly, as their data is encoded within the header, it becomes challenging to completely analyze the patient’s state.

The Vision Behind the App

The company aimed to bring innovative improvements to the medical imaging market. They envisioned the application of image processing algorithms and 3D modeling in this industry, so all of DICOM’s features could be fully exploited.

In order to fulfill their goals, they got familiar with Scopic’s experience on such services and technologies, so we worked together towards a solution.

The Scopic team undertook the responsibility of representing this innovative app by building a website that conveys the main advantages of Gorilla Workout. The Website Vision

The creators of MyFuelUp wanted to promote their easy-to-use application for fitness enthusiasts. They hoped to demonstrate the benefits of an app that helps users find great meal plans, ideal restaurants to fulfill their daily macro needs, as well as knowledgeable fitness coaches in their area. Ultimately, they were on a mission to share their knowledge and raise awareness to drive more downloads. The founder were looking for a software development partner who could create a website that would empower more of their visitors to stay fit and live more healthily.

With the founder’s vision in mind, our talented development team at Scopic built this website. It’s main purpose was to showcase the amazing meal planning app that provides healthy meal plan suggestions, along with grocery lists, restaurant recommendations, and coach info for people who want to achieve their fitness goals in a healthy and fulfilling manner.

Scopic worked hard to capture the essence of MyFuelUp’s mission ‘‘to empower people to make the most effective and efficient daily nutritional decisions through mobile technology.” Using a number of elements, such as the parallax scrolling effect, our web designers enhanced the navigation, aesthetics, and usability of the website in an attempt to encourage visitors to take action when browsing.

The Challenge

While different communication means are widely available today, many companies, including Scopic, still opt against using third-party tools. Effective internal communication allows for easy collaboration and sharing of ideas over chats, calls and video conferences. In addition, a branded company communication tool ensures the security of both company and client data, keeping all the correspondence within the organization.

The Vision

Our CEO Tim Burr, wanted to create a VoIP communication tool that would be developed with custom features by Scopic themselves. He wanted to have an application that would allow for group chats, one-on-one conversations, video/audio calls along with the option of screen sharing.

The Solution

Kreo was created by the Scopic team as a VoIP communication tool that’s similar to Skype. It was custom developed to ensure seamless and secure communication among Scopic employees around the world. Built with third-party chat engine Pubnub and call servicer Twilio, the app supports both one-on-one and group chats, voice and video calls, and screen-sharing. It also features an exclusive set of animated emojis to help users demonstrate reactions.

Scopic teams currently use Kreo for internal discussions; future versions of the app will see the inclusion of clients and other external parties. This app provides our workforce with a more streamlined and secure communication workflow.
