The Challenge Summarized

Adobe announced that, as of 31 December 2020, it will no longer be supporting Flash. Major browser vendors, such as Google, Microsoft, Mozilla, and Apple, will also stop supporting Flash Player as a plug-in, and Flash-based content will no longer be working.

This poses a challenge for companies reliant on Flash, as they need to plan for how to remove their reliance on Flash, update their code, and adapt it to the new web environment.

The Vision Behind the App

RxWeb is a comprehensive solution for managing pharmacies. It was initially written in ActionScript (Flash, Flex) and Cold Fusion. Like with most solutions in Flash, the company was looking to rewrite it in another programming language.

They reached out to Scopic for a clean update of their code.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic redeveloped RxWeb, an all-in-one pharmacy software solution. RxWeb is a web-based platform that allows you to manage all areas of pharmacy including:

Clinical services

Stock ordering

Care home patient management

Patient communications

Stock management

And more!

Based on Scopic’s recommendations, Angular and TypeScript were chosen for Front End Development. Jhipster, Spring Boot, and Java were selected for the Back End. Our team also used Bloc pattern, WebSocket with Stomp, and RabbitMQ for the Back End. WebSocket was used to replace the previous Ignite Realtime solution.

The recommended technologies significantly improved the potential of scalability and authentication support of the app.

The Challenge

Monitoring stocks with their full feed from the NASDAQ stock market requires a dynamic portal that needs to be updated every few minutes. That is a challenge in itself for most stock traders.

Most users need a real-time portal to help connect their trading accounts through the application and make trades on the market. Predicting which hot stocks to invest in can be hard to gauge without a clear view of stocks at all times.

The Vision

The founders of StocksToTrade were looking to build a user-friendly portal that would allow for real-time stock market analysis. They wanted users to be able to analyze stock markets based on cumulative and live data. They suggested the need for an interactive desktop application that would be designed for stock market users to monitor stocks with their full feed from the NASDAQ stock market. They wanted to implement cutting-edge technology that would use algorithms to help predict hot stocks for day traders.

The Scopic Solution

The Scopic team set about creating this application from scratch by using a few programming languages like RubyOnRails, C++, and MySQL. Our team fully developed this stock analysis software to follow and analyze stock markets based on cumulative and live data. Even though the backend is complex, the UI design is user-friendly and aesthetically pleasing with the addition of 2D charting.

By integrating the app with institutional data providers and leading financial brokerages, we created a functionally superior tool that would not only display live stock market stats, but would also be able to predict hot stocks for traders.

The Challenge

Hospitals often struggle to manage, share, and integrate patient data from multiple systems effectively. This leads to longer treatment periods, more data inconsistencies, and lower patient satisfaction. Additionally, understanding data and creating meaningful reports can be challenging without the right tools.

The Vision

Informatica Systems helps healthcare professionals provide better patient care and manage patient data in a more efficient way. Their cloud-based app also enables public health organizations to deliver various healthcare programs through the community.

With its automatic data-gathering feature, the app also allows GPs to access the information they need to make informed care decisions in a timely manner.

The Scopic Solution

To create an effective and comprehensive data collection web application, Informatica Systems partnered with Scopic.

We built a solution that automates the data collection and analysis process. This enables healthcare professionals to provide early intervention, proactively address potential health issues, and ensure patients receive the most appropriate care at the earliest possible stage.
We integrated the following features into the Informatica Systems solution:

Health check

Data transformation and management

Data analysis

Suggestions for analysis and diagnosis

Communicating with the principal GP systems between the WebSocket and COM API with a built Shim tool

While building the solution for ISL, Scopic effectively utilized AWS solutions. For managing big data, AWS Glue and Redshift were employed for efficient operations, complemented by an EMR cluster for data processing. CloudWatch, integrated with a Java logging framework, provided a unified logging solution. To create a reliable and responsive API facade, we utilized a custom runtime with GraalVM to run the Lambda component.

The result was a robust, scalable, and cost-effective serverless system, ensuring data protection, precision, and compliance with relevant requirements. ISL successfully overcame its initial challenges and enhanced data management performance through Scopic’s AWS solutions.

The Challenge Summarized

Day trading can be a highly lucrative avenue with the proper experience and right tools. The challenge of this particular trading software development campaign was to make an application that can meet the demands of this fast-paced market.

The Vision Behind the App

Scopic has enjoyed a long-standing collaboration with StocksToTrade and developed the desktop and web versions of the app, with the mobile application currently in development. Another extension of the vision is to have embeddable web widgets. This string of evolving ideas and innovative spirit have powered the long-term relationship between Scopic and the client.

The Scopic Solution

A light web version of a desktop application was designed for users to monitor stocks with full feed from the NASDAQ stock market. The web version was created by Scopic’s team from scratch to allow users to connect their real trading accounts through the application and trade on the market. Depending on the type of subscription, users may have different widgets available. Oracle, one of the most popular widgets available on the web version, uses algorithms to predict hot stocks for day traders.

In addition to Oracle, Scopic used several AWS solutions to implement the light web version. This included AWS ECS for application deployment and storage, AWS ElastiCache to reduce external data requests, and AWS Lambda & API Gateway for cost-effective serverless scaling. Data integrity and security are key to this type of application. To ensure the reliability of the database, we used AWS RDS with PostgreSQL and we further enhanced the security of the database by enabling encryption and leveraging the AWS KMS (Key Management Service), along with other measures that ensured robust protection. Cloudwatch configuration was also a requirement in this ever-changing domain, allowing us to track, troubleshoot, analyze system activity, and make strategic technical decisions.

The result was a notable reduction in server load, improved response times, enhanced security, and a scalable, cost-effective infrastructure. StocksToTrade now offers traders a resilient, secure, and scalable platform for efficient market analysis.

The Vision

The founders of the OmniBazaar marketplace envisioned a dynamic website where people could barter a product or service without a bank account or credit card and immediately receive OmniCoins, Bitcoins or Ether.

They wanted a huge decentralized crypto marketplace that would be able to serve over two billion people with a registered user base of 10,000 crypto owners. They were on a mission to empower users to buy, trade, and sell their cryptocurrencies on this soon to be made website. This would allow online buyers to benefit from lower prices and escape the headache of “big data” tracking and “push” marketing. They also hoped for extremely high levels of security standards to be put in place to ensure no fraudulent activities would occur in their online marketplace.

The Solution

With Scopic’s expert team of C++ programmers and software developers on board, we listened to the Omnicoin vision and began developing a patented “peer-to-peer-to-peer” solution for Windows, Mac, and Linux. We pride ourselves in building the ultimate crypto eCommerce marketplace to rival eBay and Amazon.

By blending existing technology like C++, Java, NodeJS and the revolutionary blockchain, not only did we change the codebase from Bitshares 0.9.3(c) to Bitshares 2.0, but we also designed, developed and integrated a new user interface with Javascript. Our teams continue to work together to further optimize and implement additional features and adapt to the ever-evolving crypto marketplace.

She set out to help photographers place their work over eye-catching and custom wall backgrounds. By doing so, her clients would be able to help their customers visualize each photograph before purchasing. In doing so, the founder knew she would be able to help her fellow photographers to dramatically increase their wall-art sales.

The Scope Solution

Turning to Scopic for support, the founder of Shoot and Sell painted the picture of what she was trying to achieve. Listening attentively, we selected an expert team of mobile app developers to create this application for both Android and iOS devices.

Building this unique photography sales software from scratch, our team used cross-platform development techniques to ensure it would be accessible to all mobile users. Ultimately, they were on a mission to share their knowledge and raise awareness to drive more downloads. The founder were looking for a software development partner who could create a website that would empower more of their visitors to stay fit and live more healthily.

The Animal Combination Challenge

Have you ever wondered what a half giraffe, half zebra would look like? Or maybe even a goat, dog combination?

It’s one thing to think about it and visualize it in our minds, it’s a whole other thing to actually, physically see what these types of animal combinations could really look like.

The Vision Behind the App

The visionaries behind Switch Zoo wanted to bring these imaginative creatures to life (virtually). They pictured an app where children could use their imagination to create their own varieties of animals by combining different species. They also wanted the app to not only be fun, but educational, where kids could learn about animals, build habitats, and more.

With this fun educational app idea, they sought out Scopic for our software development services.

The Scopic Solution

Our team took this exciting app framework to create the Switch Zoo app. We developed the app to be a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android users as a fun and creative activity for kids.

The app is completely entertaining with multiple educational components. While children can combine their favorite animals to see what they would look like, they are also learning about habitats, reading facts about animals, solving puzzles, taking virtual field trips, and building homes for their new species.
