The founder of SketchList 3D was hoping to revolutionize the way woodworkers and hobbyists work. As a woodshop owner himself, he understood the frustrations many woodworkers faced when trying to use design software and sought to provide a simple and easy-to-use solution that would empower fast and accurate design.

The Scopic Solution

By partnering with Scopic, the idea behind SketchList 3D was brought to life. SketchList is a 3D woodworking design software where building projects is a matter of inserting virtual boards, cutting to size, and locating them in the design. The model is created instantly on the screen. Simply enter dimensions and materials for the models, and the software automatically generates the layouts, spreadsheets, drawings, cut lists, and other reports needed for all of the user’s planning, purchasing, and production needs.  

Moreover, with user feedback in tow, our designers went back to the drawing board to create a more effective, user-friendly SketchList 3D. SketchList 3D Version 5 is now a reality, and it was redesigned to ensure that it is more streamlined and easier-to-use. Now, users of all levels can create both simple and more complex designs within a few clicks. All tools, buttons, menus, and renderings were redesigned to make V5 more visually appealing and, in turn, more pleasant to use. Also, V5 forms and processes are now more direct and require fewer actions to complete – helping the users to reach their desired design quicker.

In multi-media campaigns, billboards take a considerable part of the budget. This is because it has proven to affect audience reach if the ad is done correctly – particularly in sporting events. The goal may be to increase awareness, call to action or directly influence sales. However, it can be difficult to understand how effective a billboard actually is. And its use and effectiveness are often not analyzed but rather taken for granted or vaguely estimated.

Sporting events largely depend on ad spend and consumption. But businesses looking to promote through billboards not only need to know where they are available but also have some guarantee and transparency for the services.

The Vision Behind the App

The Brand Analysis tool was thought up to help tackle this issue. The idea was to apply smart technology to the world of advertising as a way to substantially streamline the work that goes into building ad campaigns. The company noticed a gap in the attempt to provide smarter opportunities to the sporting events market when it came to making decisions regarding which ads were to be visible and at what price.

Their vision of innovative improvement aligned with Scopic team’s experience, and thus they reached out and discussed our technology solutions.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic designed and developed The Brand Analysis application using C++, C# along with Computer Vision Algorithms. The software’s unique design represented a video and advertisement application that was programmed to detect and find advertising billboards in sporting events automatically. The application was tailor-made to record, gauge, and then determine:

The time frame for which each billboard was visible

The position of the billboard

And more!

These statistics could then be used for analytics and pricing.

The Digital Horse Racing Challenge 

Physically owning, training, breeding and racing a professional racehorse can be an extremely pricey endeavor and seems to be a sport for those in a ‘certain class’ of wealth.

In a world where you can play games based on pretty much anything in real life, horse racing should not be an exception. With this idea in mind, the challenge now becomes: how to develop it and bring the gamer into the exciting sport of horse racing without having to spend thousands of dollars to be involved.

The Vision Behind 

DigitalDowns

The team over at DigitalDowns saw this opportunity and wanted to bring the sport of horse racing to a larger audience. With a gap in the virtual horse racing market, they decided to create a game where the user could be involved in all aspects of this fast-paced world.

DigitalDowns envisioned their game as an experience – one where the user could participate in more than just betting and watching races. They wanted it to be more interactive where the player would be able to see what it was like to truly raise a horse. After training and raising a horse, they envisioned the user to then enter their horse in a race and earn real money while competing against other players around the world.
The team at Digital Downs needed their game to be as close to real-life horse raising and training as possible. They wanted it to be based off of real race tracks in the U.S.

With this exciting project in mind, the visionaries behind DigitalDowns came to Scopic to help bring their game to life.

The Scopic Solution

Our team of developers worked closely with DigitalDowns to model the game after famous race tracks across the U.S. and ensured the other details of the app matched their creativity.

In order to achieve this, we focused on creating the app around the key areas of DigitalDowns’ wishes for the game. To mirror real-life experiences the game needed to portray certain scenarios, like:

Owning a stable of horses

Racing horses for real money

Complete ownership of the horse

Training horses

Buying horses at auctions

Veterinarian visits

And many more aspects that come with owning and racing horses.

The Electronic Keyboard Challenge 

Apps have given us access to multiple streams of entertainment – movies, games, tv, and more. The music industry hasn’t been left behind, with many musical applications offered to us. Unfortunately, the challenge associated with wanting to play or learn to play a traditional instrument is that you physically need to have it with you.

Most instruments – especially pianos – aren’t easily transported from place to place. This makes it hard for the musician or student to play, compose, or learn whenever and wherever they’d like. If you desired to play, you needed to be in the same space as your piano.

The Vision Behind the App

With this challenge in mind, the folks at MIDI fantasized about a keyboard that was not only portable but also musically accurate and easy to play. They envisioned an app that would be a precise replication of a real-life keyboard, mimicking the quality of sound. Along with the software, they dreamt of a small, hand-held keyboard that could be used simultaneously with the app. They turned to Scopic to partner on their exciting ideas.

The Scopic Solution

With our custom software development services, we designed and developed Electronic Musical Instrument and the companion MIDI Controller (the hand-held keyboard mentioned before) in record time. Electronic Musical Instrument is one of two integrated applications designed by our team. It interprets and transcribes musical notation in MIDI format from inputs on a standard computer keyboard. Our team managed to fit five octaves onto a regular, 3.75×9-inch laptop keyboard.

The app makes it possible to ‘play’ up to a three-octave range with only one hand. Through a simple tutorial, users can learn to play and understand the basic principles of reading and composing music with this software. The app is available on both Mac and Windows desktops as well as other tablet operating systems.

The Cephalometric Analysis Challenge 

Cephalometric analysis is used as a treatment planning tool for dental procedures as they relate to the human skull. It is utilized by dentists and orthodontists, as well as oral and maxillofacial surgeons.

It is usually conducted manually, which makes the process time-consuming. In addition, manual analysis can be subjective and prone to human error. The orthodontists are not satisfied with the comprehensiveness of regular diagnostic pictures. They often need templates and retracings of acetate overlays.

The Vision Behind the App

Dr. Ceph company envisioned to be the first of its kind to superimpose x-rays and photographs into one manipulable image which shows both hard and soft tissue. They aimed to decrease the manual process by 90% of the time. They wanted to simplify the identification of the radiological points as much as possible.

The company needed quality custom medical software development services to bring their vision of a user-friendly medical system into reality. That’s how they found Scopic.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic developed Dr. Ceph software, an easy-to-use and customizable platform that served the company’s vision. Dr. Ceph is a cephalometric analysis software program with image morphing (surgical dental, genioplasty, and growth). It allows medical professionals to view and manipulate images with both hard and soft tissue. Using clinically accurate hard tissue movement, the patient’s profile can be morphed to show the results of the proposed treatment.
