The Nutrition Challenge

Maintaining a healthy balanced diet can be tricky, especially when trying to follow a specific diet or aiming to reach your nutrition goals. And if you have any household allergies to throw into the mix, preparing the right food to achieve your objectives is even more challenging.

The Idea Behind the App

The founder and owner of Recipe IQ had a vision: to give home cooks more control over their family’s health by easily extracting the nutritional information from the image of ANY recipe. He wanted to empower anyone and everyone to eat healthier meals, by taking the mystery out of a recipe’s ingredients.

The Scopic Solution

RecipeIQ was built by the Scopic development team as a mobile app that is compatible with both iOS and Android. The application allows for the extraction of all the nutrition facts from print and online recipes. Additionally, users can not only scan/take photos of recipes but also add their own recipes. It pulls ingredients to calculate their combined nutritional values, using an advanced database search algorithm.

Scopic’s team also introduced an additional database to allow users to add custom ingredients and improve the accuracy of nutritional calculations. This innovative recipe analyzer app helps home cooks maintain a balanced diet, and empowers dieters to cook with confidence.

Feeder Vu

A realistic feeding and learning experience for bird enthusiasts

Enjoy bird feeding and watching no matter where you are!

The Challenge Summarized

Bird enthusiasts are fascinated by typical behaviors of birds, as well as their breed differences. You will find them trying to feed and interact with the birds in parks and backyards. However, there are many types of wild birds in remote habitats, that can only be observed via videos or photos. These means do not allow for much interaction with the birds, like feeding for instance

The Vision Behind the App

Being aware of this challenge, the company aimed to create a way where bird-lovers could enjoy every single detail of these beautiful creatures. Bird enthusiasts could learn more fun facts, and in the meantime they could also feel like they were watching them in person. In order to achieve this goal, it had to be done in a very realistic manner.
So, they worked together with Scopic on a solution.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic built Feeder Vu, a user-friendly and responsive mobile application. This is the first realistic 3D virtual bird feeder app in the Apple App Store. Users are able to customize their bird feeder and admire the intricate details and natural behaviors of the birds. Tapping on particular birds provides additional information on them. The app also allows enthusiasts to virtually add bird feeders in different locations within the U.S. and choose the bird species they’d like to feed.

Super Nano Trucks

The app that allows guided play

Play. Build. Create. Learn.

The Truck Application Challenge Summarized

Many children absolutely love to play with toy trucks like bulldozers, cranes, dump trucks, and others. They’ll use these toys, pretending to dump cement, build structures, and move dirt. The great thing about these toys is that they help children develop fine motor skills while using and expanding their imagination.

The Vision Behind the App

Knowing the struggles with having to pack up all kinds of toys to keep children busy, engaged and constantly learning, the team at Super Nano Truck envisioned an app that would bring the fun world of building with trucks to children through mobile devices.

They wanted the app to be educational – teaching children how to take on tasks – while still broadening their minds and enhancing their fine motor skills. To build this app, they teamed up with Scopic’s development experts.

The Scopic Solution

Knowing the vision behind the app, our team of developers created the Super Nano Trucks app for iOS that supplies kids with countless hours of fun! Through the app, children are able to drive several construction trucks, control various machines such as cranes, build tunnels, bridges, and much more.

The app is designed around entertainment but has educational value as well. Children are learning to tackle obstacles, follow directions, think critically, while also developing their motor skills. All of this while being able to play and learn with trucks wherever and whenever they please.

Create endless combinations of
animals with this app

Dream bigger. Reach further. Be at your very best.

The Animal Combination Challenge

Have you ever wondered what a half giraffe, half zebra would look like? Or maybe even a goat, dog combination?

It’s one thing to think about it and visualize it in our minds, it’s a whole other thing to actually, physically see what these types of animal combinations could really look like.

The Vision Behind the App

The visionaries behind Switch Zoo wanted to bring these imaginative creatures to life (virtually). They pictured an app where children could use their imagination to create their own varieties of animals by combining different species. They also wanted the app to not only be fun, but educational, where kids could learn about animals, build habitats, and more.

With this fun educational app idea, they sought out Scopic for our software development services.

The Scopic Solution

Our team took this exciting app framework to create the Switch Zoo app. We developed the app to be a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android users as a fun and creative activity for kids.

The app is completely entertaining with multiple educational components. While children can combine their favorite animals to see what they would look like, they are also learning about habitats, reading facts about animals, solving puzzles, taking virtual field trips, and building homes for their new species.

Educating self-empowerment.

The Being-a-Student Challenge Summarized

College experiences are diverse and enriched with self-growing processes that eventually lead the way to what the person will turn out to be in the community. However, with that, there is also a lot going on psychologically. There is high pressure in trying to accomplish academic goals, that it may become overwhelming. Students may feel disorganized and stressed out. They feel like their time is moving fast for them to keep up with the rest, so they develop poor sleep habits, unresolved relationship problems and an overall unhealthy lifestyle.

The Vision Behind the App

MYSELFPLAN company aimed at presenting happiness as a priority for students. No matter how many life requirements they felt like having, being healthy shouldn’t be left as a second plan. They envisioned this would also eventually affect all their other problems that felt like having.

So, they reached out to Scopic and came up with a digitalized solution.

The Scopic Solution

AccuPlan

The App That Makes The Artistic and Thorough Surgical Work Easier

Fast. Efficient. Thorough.

The Surgical Planning Challenge

Surgical planning, exploring and fine-tuning can be a challenge without a software to support the work. When MedCAD biomedical engineers develop a surgeon’s plan, there’s a need for an application, where they can easily make their work available for surgeons.

The market was in need of a solution that would make the manufacturing of custom medical devices fast and efficient.

The Vision Behind the App

And so the AccuPlan app came to life, making it possible for surgeons to fully explore, fine tune, and submit approvals to their orthognathic, craniofacial or cranial implant planning. These approvals facilitate fast and efficient manufacturing of custom medical devices. Moreover, the founder had a vision of creating a virtual prescription pad for any custom cranio-maxillofacial or orthognathic procedure that required surgical planning. So he joined forces with Scopic to build an application that will be not only a viewer for the evaluation of a surgical plan submitted to MedCAD, but it will also be a tool for case submission, commentary and approval.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic, as a medical software development company, partnered with AccuPlan to build and design an iOS application that would revolutionize the way surgical plans are submitted. The solution came to life with cross platform application development, geometric algorithms, 3D, C++ and other tools. When creating the app some of our activities involved:

iOS Application Development

Cross Platform Development

Native and Cross Platform SDKs

3D and Ogre 3D

Native-English Copywriting

Responsive Design

We then continued working on making the mobile app responsive for all devices. AccuPlan is now available for iOS users and is making the manufacturing of custom medical devices more efficient.

ScriptFILTER

The automatization tool for the modern filmmaker

Improving the way you read, budget, plan, and edit.

ScriptFilter main

The Script Challenge Summarized

TV and movie production professionals encounter lots of script handling. It often serves as a starting point for managing budget and scheduling. However, it is easy to get overwhelmed due to its lack of constructive organization and high volume of data. There are lots of characters and scenes, and no matter how much experience and management skills a person has, it takes a lot of time to put things on track.

The Vision Behind the App

Nutshell Media understood this common script struggle for writers, producers, directors, actors, and other professionals in every discipline of production and post-production. They believed that more could be done to the automatization of such processes. The company aimed at giving them the ability to obtain access to the very DNA of a script. They contacted us with this idea in mind, and in return got promised to deliver such value.

ScriptFilter vision

The Scopic Solution

Scopic worked together with Nutshell Media and built the responsive mobile application, ScriptFILTER on iOS. The app is able to automatically analyze and summarize movie and television scripts. Through robust backend features, it collects and organizes valuable data about characters and scenes. To serve that, it calculates the statistical significance of characters, scenes, and sentences in terms of their relationship to the main storyline of the script.

The platform takes the idea further on by suggesting areas of the script that are statistically less significant, so at a glance the professionist can see which scenes are ripe for pruning. In the end, the app can quickly save and email screen shots and CSV files.
