Applied behavior analysis (ABA) is a form of therapy that is designed to treat issues with communication, motor skills, and behavioral disorders. ABA therapy helps to identify the causes of an individual’s behavioral challenges and uses select approaches to address these challenges.

ABA nurtures fundamental skills such as looking, listening, requesting, and imitating, as well as complex skills such as reading, conversing, and understanding another person’s perspective. ABA therapy is used in schools, hospitals, clinics, and homes.

The Vision Behind the App

To understand if behavioral improvements are being made, it is important to gather and analyze the data based on responses made by the child. If the chosen strategies are not working, therapists may need to fine-tune the program, so the child begins to improve.

Accel envisioned an application that would automate the data collection and analysis processes, as well as allow therapists to write custom ABA programs that help children progress. To implement their vision, they turned to Scopic.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic developed Accel, an intuitive, audit-proof platform to help elevate ABA therapy practices everywhere. Accel allows users to create custom data collection forms, analyze data with graphs and progress summary, and review notes that summarize clients’ response to intervention.
This mobile application also helps therapists take a wide range of data, including: correct/incorrect, prompt level, task analysis, ABC data, interval recording, celeration, and more.
Accel’s session note templates capture quantitative and qualitative data and allow users to create comprehensive session notes, ensuring clients stay compliant audit-proof.

The IEP Challenge Summarized

The Individualized Education Plan is a program created for children with an identified disability. It is an informative test regarding what the child should focus on and improve upon, which is decisive for their education and future mental health.

However, there are a lot of burdens when it comes to its implementation. Not all schools are capable of providing this test because IEP is time-consuming and learning institutions may lack campus psychologists to perform the exams.

Thus teachers need to manually keep track of every student, archiving results for multiple IEPs from different third-party providers. Proper organization and follow-ups on this information allow teachers to come up with the right strategy for each child individually but it becomes difficult to do so.

The Vision Behind the App

The Datability company was founded by a veteran special education teacher. Being aware of the struggles children with special needs went through, he sought for a solution. The teacher aimed at producing ways for him to keep and use data concerning the children both as a record and as a way of structuring future strategies. Later on, he envisioned this could be applicable to the system as a whole and to every student, no criteria needed.

So, he contacted Scopic and worked together on a solution that would make teachers’ and children’s lives easier.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic created Datability as a data collection and reporting tool for educators and school personnel. The application serves for recording student data and supporting individual educational plans. Within its easy-to-use design, our mobile experts made recording and accessing useful data clean and straightforward. Screens and options appear in an intuitive order. Where appropriate, options are selected from a drop-down list. Where a more open-ended entry is needed, the on-screen keyboard is used and fits in well with the display as it does not obscure any of the useful information or options.

The child’s IEP goals are easily imported into Datability. The app also sends reminders when it is time to collect data again, which improves compliance. Datability generates concise student data reports that include:

The Challenge with Training Programs

Creating effective employee training programs requires significant effort, but also generates feasible value for both the company and the employee. To capture the training’s success and to determine further areas of improvement, it is necessary to track the employee training progress. However, without all the data being pulled into a central location, it proves challenging to pinpoint how the training program or the employee training performance can be improved.

The Vision

Scopic sought to create a powerful solution that would enable its employees to continuously gain new skills and expertise. We envisioned an all-in-one platform that would help create, assign, and assess the progress of employee training. We also wanted the Training System to allow the users to access the information about the offered courses and for the company to monitor the training budget.

The Scopic Solution

Scopic’s Training System is designed to monitor the progress of training assignments and provide tools for managing training budgets.

The Training Library is one of the components of the Scopic’s Training System. It is the area where users can find information about the offered courses and pick the ones they are most interested in.

The training itself is conducted via two study types: Training and Practical Task.
The Training study type is suitable for employees looking to acquire new skills about a particular technology. Once the training coordinator grants access to the learning resources, the trainee starts with the course. Trainees provide progress reports that are synced with the time tracking system, making it simple for the coordinator to monitor the training budget.

The Practical Task study type is designed to create a cohesive flow of actions between the trainee, the training coordinator, and the trainer. This study type is used when the trainee is working on a practical task after completing the training. The Practical Task displays the following information: progress achieved, assignment details, improvements requested, trainer’s feedback, EOD history, and the final score from the trainer.

The employees also have an option of following a Training Path. The Training Path is a consecutive chain of study assignments that allows the employees to develop a full set of skills in a particular domain. The Training Path is multipurpose, adapted to specific training needs, and different seniority levels.

However, since many of them started over a decade ago, they typically lack modern interfaces and other user-friendly attributes. This creates a challenge for both teachers and students particularly in an age, where computer learning has come to play an even greater role in the education process.

The Vision Behind the App

Scopic’s intention behind the Datability Web App was to create a tool that would help teachers track progress with features allowing to add new schools and manage subscriptions. The team at Scopic believed in building an application that would make the process of grading and tracking progress more manageable.

The Scopic Solution

Datability Web App is an online data collection tool for Individualized Education Plans (IEP) in special education. It allows teachers to keep track of each student’s goals, behaviours, and academic performance. Teachers can then export the data and use it for reporting purposes. The app helps deliver personalized student assessments that include graphs and detailed notes to parents and colleagues.

The Vision Behind the App

The company behind Pizo Egypt wanted to offer parents an application that would help improve child learning, especially up to age 5. They envision an app that challenges the brain and helps develop logic, cognitive, and fine motor skills. With this vision, they reached out to Scopic to begin developing the educational app.

The Scopic Solution

Pizo Egypt is a puzzle-building, brain-challenging game for kids 5 and under. The game is set up so players can go on an Egyptian adventure in Pizo Egypt, unlock mysteries in the Egyptian desert, and discover the Pyramids, as well as other hidden treasures.

The Animal Combination Challenge

Have you ever wondered what a half giraffe, half zebra would look like? Or maybe even a goat, dog combination?

It’s one thing to think about it and visualize it in our minds, it’s a whole other thing to actually, physically see what these types of animal combinations could really look like.

The Vision Behind the App

The visionaries behind Switch Zoo wanted to bring these imaginative creatures to life (virtually). They pictured an app where children could use their imagination to create their own varieties of animals by combining different species. They also wanted the app to not only be fun, but educational, where kids could learn about animals, build habitats, and more.

With this fun educational app idea, they sought out Scopic for our software development services.

The Scopic Solution

Our team took this exciting app framework to create the Switch Zoo app. We developed the app to be a cross-platform mobile application for iOS and Android users as a fun and creative activity for kids.

The app is completely entertaining with multiple educational components. While children can combine their favorite animals to see what they would look like, they are also learning about habitats, reading facts about animals, solving puzzles, taking virtual field trips, and building homes for their new species.

Full-time students and employees alike want to learn and grow, but often encounter two main constraints:

Time – Lack of time often prevents people from pursuing a certification that validates their competences. A lot of time is invested in traditional classroom settings and, generally, people need to be able to keep up with the pace of the rest of the group regardless of other commitments they might have.

Access – They are constrained to learn on specific schedules and at a specific time, limiting the flexibility of their working and entertainment hours. In addition, people are also restricted to only one type of learning source, creating biased opinions and damaging creativity.

The Vision Behind the App

Accounting E-learning iPad company envisioned education being accessible by all, no matter where they are and when they can learn. This was especially applied to accounting as it is a learned profession that becomes essential in any business. The aim of the company was to provide a solution that would help users gain a competitive advantage in the market and increase their competency constructively.
As the implementation of this idea played a vital role in its success, they contacted Scopic to further understand how to make an accounting course accessible to anyone, anywhere.

The Scopic Solution

After building the desktop application, Scopic was also asked to develop the iPad version of this accounting education app as a comprehensive textbook-replacement tool that teaches introductory accounting. Our experts created a user-friendly interface that combined video tutorials, slides, and interactive problem-solving sections. The user can learn lesson-by-lesson or browse using the alphabetical order option when looking for a specific topic.
